What is STEAM?
STEAM is an educational approach to learning that uses concepts in Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics to guide student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking. This approach produces students who apply their learning to real-world applications, persist in problem-solving, embrace collaboration, and work through the creative process.
After receiving an education degree from the University of Cincinnati, I began my career teaching 6th graders in the Hamilton City School District. The last two years I was the 4th grade math teacher at Harrison Elementary. I am a fan of technology, making things, and tinkering with just about anything. In addition to being a “techie”, I also like to spend time in the outdoors with my wife and son. I can’t wait to share my passion for STEAM subjects with my students.
